THE RISE AND FALL OF THE FIRE VALKYRIE
The near white horse stirs. You jump to attention, eyes wide with anticipation. Gently the dun's eyes open and reveal the white within. Slowly lifting his head, the great weight of his horns seems to nearly overpower him, but in your eyes nothing can destroy this creature. Shifted in his place he seems to listen to the air for a moment. It is night by now and the tree frogs have slowly ended their songs. Silence between pre-dawn birds and dusk frogs persists, and the feeling of eeriness persists. You could not feel ill at ease here though. -Over the generations, the herd on the island grew. They could sustain themselves, and no longer needed others across the sea. They stopped flying, and choose leaders. History became tradition, and leaderships fell to sons.
-The loss of flight turned the surrounding sea into myths and legends. A culture built up around the sea. It was worshipped, beloved, and revered. Wings became used for fighting.
-The crown soon fell to Yarrow, who took by his side Leith. Like his fathers before him he was proud and strong. Though young, he showed wisdom, and great care.
